Silver Eagle Shortage?

have you guys heard anything on 2004 eagle shortage? 2005 should be interesting, to say the least.

Now taking orders for delivery in January

Lock in your order at today's silver prices!

In 2004 we sold over 15,000 American Silver Eagles within 2 months. We were totally unprepared for the volume of orders and ended up paying more and more for each order we placed with the distributor to replenish our stock. Not this year! We've placed our order with the distributor so that we are assured of getting them early and and at today's silver prices.

This year we are offering single coins, 20 coin rolls and even the 500 coin Monster Box. These will be first strike silver eagles, which means the quality of the coins will be superior to those produced later in the year as the dies used to press the coins are new but will degrade over time. Both the rolls and monster boxes will be original mint issued and have never been opened. Be careful picking up the monster box when it arrives, this thing weighs in at a hefty 31.25 pounds of solid silver!

Re: Silver Eagle Shortage?

There's always a supply problem at the end of the year. They finished minting 2004 a couple of weeks ago so that they could change over to the 2005 design. In the meantime, any misjudgment of production ends up showing as a scarcity in the market. I can virtually guarantee that any significant premiums will be reduced in January.

Yes, that is an interesting thing to point out. I think we'll definately see some price changes (premium) in Jan. Go to www.apmex.com and you see that 2004 eagles are more expensive than the 2005 (lol, how ironic).
